The latest in the Potter series to come to both film and console, ‘The Order of the Phoenix looks set to be the most enjoyable game so far. Graphically it looks amazing on both current and next gen formats, and the developers have been a stickler for detail, allowing you to really feel that you’re in Harry’s world. You can explore many locations from the book and film in real depth and well, it’s completely engrossing!
The game is easy to pick up and play, and doesn’t have a ‘kiddie’ feel to it either, meaning you can enjoy it whatever your age. Early tutorials let you pick up your basic magic skills easily, and as you progress through the game you’ll be able to learn more fantastical spells in order to work your way through the story.
Not wanting to give too much of the plot away for those who’ve not yet read book five, you’ll get to follow the story of Harry’s fifth year at Hogwarts and his fight against the evil Voldemort, playing as multiple characters including Sirius Black and Dumbledore, and you’ll also be kept busy for a long, long time with all the challenges and unlockables the game offers. This game looks like a good package all round, to the extent that you don’t have to be a Potter fan to enjoy it.
