Forza 2 Motorsport

A review of Forza 2 Motorsport for the X360.

Microsoft, £49.99
X360, Out June 8th
Rating: 3+

Microsoft’s Gran Turismo beater has been a long time coming, especially since it slipped from November to a June release, however, it’s definitely been worth the wait! The original Forza was a brilliant simulation, steering well clear of the arcade perfection of PGR3, but offering so much to fans of cars and online racing.

This time round there are more tracks, more cars and even more detail than ever before. With over 300 cars ranging from classics through to fully modded-out supercars, there’s going to be everyone’s idea of a dream racing machine available to play from the off.

The cars themselves are simply astonishing when it comes to detail. Everything from tyre pressure, brake balance, suspension and wear and tear is simulated with their own physics, so if you’re pushing the car too hard, you might get engine failure, or if you smash into a wall, you’ll see the results in a crumpled up bonnet, which you’re stuck with for the rest of the race.

Another big plus is the ability to design your own car look, and being able to sell them online, but not for real money of course! It’s these little extras that add so much to Forza 2, making it the best drive on Xbox 360 for those serious about their racing.

We reckon…
