How to deal with the pressures of life; both those we suffer through work and home, but also those we put on ourselves.
Author: Douglas Miller
ISBN: 0-2737-1269-1
Anxiety has become a feature of our times, yet it doesn’t have to be this way. Douglas Miller believes that each of us has the ability to transform anxiety from a negative force to one that we can thrive on to find happiness and fulfilment.
Douglas Miller is an established author, speaker and trainer in this field and this book was most definitively an interesting read in how to deal with the pressures of life; both those we suffer through work and home, but also those we put on ourselves.
This book breaks down the issues into seven sections, considering the problem, and looking at the solutions and how to deal with the pressures in order to come away more positive.
Knowing yourself, the meaning of life, consuming, relationships, work, time and the future are the areas focused on and within the chapters you’ll find Miller raises lots of interesting points. You may find that if you pick this up you know the areas that are stressing you out and can head to those specific chapters, but by just simply reading through this book you may find that subconsciously you had concerns over certain things that you weren’t really aware of!
There is no belittling of worries you may have thought you should overlook as they are ‘miniscule’ instead Miller talks you through many of the classic causes of anxiety in the modern world and how to stop them from affecting your life in a negative way.
Miller cant make the bad things in the world disappear, but he can help you understand that the way you feel is normal, you’re not alone, and that there are ways to get through the stress and anxiety so you can deal with issues as and when they are raised.
In today’s modern rat race of higher education and work pressures this book is one I’d recommend to all readers, you’ll definitely find it useful at some point in your life…
