Understanding the innovation transport landscape in Israel and the UK

In May 2016, as part of for TeXchange Mobility 2016, 13 Israeli mobility companies gathered at the IET’s headquarters Savoy Place to discuss the future of transport in Israel and the UK. The event started with pitches by the Israeli intelligent mobility start-ups and was followed by a Word Café where we quizzed these start-ups and the delegates about the barriers and opportunities in the areas of Transport Communications, Cyber Security, Big Data, Safety and Autonomy and Future Cars.

HS2 and the IET

The IET Transport Sector, Parsons Brinckerhoff and HS2 Ltd are collaborating on a programme of knowledge dissemination related to the rail system design of the proposed new UK high speed railway line – HS2. The collaboration aims to share the technical knowledge, innovations and challenges of delivering a large scale transport project.

The IET is working in collaboration with the Professional Yachting Association (PYA) to support engineers and technicians, who are keen to progress their careers, by providing a route to professional registration qualifications, such as Chartered Engineer, Incorporated Engineer, Engineering Technician and ICT Technician. The IET will be hosting an engineering seminar and workshops on professional registration.
