Welcome

Low Carbon Network Innovation 2017

Low Carbon Network Innovation projects and learning from the UKs Smart demonstration projects funded by Ofgem.

The 2016 Low Carbon Networks & Innovation (LCNI) Conference took place on 11 – 13 October at Manchester Central and was co-hosted by Electricity North West.

The LCNI conference showcases the breadth of innovative engineering work taking place across the electricity, and gas network industries to deliver the UK’s ‘low carbon’ energy future. The conference provides the network organisations with the opportunity to share their findings from Ofgem funded innovation schemes with the industry.

2016 was the sixth year of the conference proceedings which the Energy Networks Association (ENA) confirmed as being the largest delegate attendance for the conference to date

IET.TV filmed the event and captured the first day of speeches and some of the six streams of conference sessions across the next two days for the benefit of the IET membership.

Of note will be Ofgem chief executive Dermot Nolan’s keynote but also some of the innovation sessions on Heat, DSO, Community Energy, Active Network Management, EV Charging and interviews with large and small exhibitors.

Please find a selection of the key notes and panel sessions from the first day of the conference below. If you wish to review the conference sessions and interviews from the second two days, simply select Wednesday or Thursday on the tabs at the top of the footage page using this link

NB: You don’t have to be an IET member to view the following video footage, simply register with IET.TV to gain access.
