In partnership with the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), the IET delivered a seminar which delivered an insight in to recent standards in the Lifts and Escalator sectors. The event offered delegates the opportunities to be briefed and pose questions to the authors and contributors on the following new standards: EN81-20 Passenger and goods passenger lifts, BS6440: 2011 Powered vertical lifting platforms having non-enclosed or partially enclosed lift ways intended for use by persons with impaired mobility – Specification, BS7801: 2011 Code of practice for safe working on escalators and moving walks and BS5655-6 Code of practice for the selection, installation and location of new lifts.
