About the conference:
Effective condition monitoring is vital in a world where pressure to reduce life cycle costs and get the most out of assets is on the rise.
For the first time this conference included a focus on non-destructive testing (NDT). Driven and made far more practical by advances in processing power, the efficiency that NDT offers could provide a realistic solution to the perennial capacity challenge that railway systems face.
The latest technologies in condition monitoring can indeed save time money and labour as well as promote efficient maintenance scheduling and high safety levels, but in order for the technology to be effective in the commercial environment, both research and industry figures must come together to discuss practical applications. This is a key aim of this conference.
