Forms for electrical contractors

The IEE Wiring Regulations forms, as listed in BS 7671 and Part P, are often referred to as Test Certificates or Forms of Reporting.

Blank forms, suitable for printing out and filling in by hand, are available in PDF format. Specifically that is F1 to F6, i.e. short and standard installation, minor works, periodic inspection - complete with inspection and test schedules and guidance for recipients.

If you simply want a blank form (just like a photocopy from the Regs) that you can hand fill in, use the BS 7671 forms PDFs - see the Downloads link box on the right-side of this page. (The older versions are to enable duplicate older forms to be created if necessary.) The four files are:

  • BS 7671:2008 forms
  • BS 7671:2001 Amd No 2 forms
  • BS 7671:2001 Amd No 1 forms
  • BS 7671:1992 Amd No 2 forms

Fill-able forms for use by contractors

A 2008 fill-able form is not yet available (You can use the "Email alerts" link to email you when it is available), however this download (currently version web_up6a) creates a form filling capability for BS 7671:2001 (2004) forms. Specifically, F1 to F6, i.e. short and standard installation, minor works, periodic inspection - complete with inspection and test schedules, guidance for recipients and extra inspection and test schedules.

With this free download (web_up6a), it is possible to complete and then print out the forms. It is even possible to save a completed form. The IET's use of "global variables", copy forward and default values makes completing the form relatively painless! Users who have the commercial versions of Acrobat can save the data to an archive. The IET package also contains a special plug-in to load files and search the archive (a forms management system!).

Users who have loaded a previous version of this package (web_up4 or 6) should simply load this new version - your saved forms or modified templates will not be overwritten. Download the web_up6a update from the Downloads link on the right-hand side of this page.

For more details and installation instructions in PDF format, download 'Web 6a update installation'.
