Description
Consultation on the secondary curriculum review: IET comments to the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA).
Abstract
Although the programmes and overall structure have a great deal to commend them, there are specific concerns around the implementation time for teachers. This is especially so given the other changes to the curriculum, such as the introduction of the new diplomas. There are also serious concerns around the Key Stage 3 changes proposed to Design and Technology. In addition issues around the naming of the sub-areas within science and technology have been noted, and the potentially adverse impact that the teaching of ICT has on the perception of computer science.
