Consultation on the Review of the UK Climate Change Programme: IEE comments to the Scottish Executive.
Abstract The IEE’s formal response to the consultation has been submitted to DEFRA and can be found online at 'S714 - Consultation on the review of the UK Climate Change Programme'. The IEE’s Engineering Policy Group – Scotland endorses the spirit of the views given in that response. In particular, it is the Group’s view that education is a key aspect in reducing humanity’s detrimental effects on the climate, and that this should be addressed without delay, and early in a citizen’s education. It is recommended that Scotland takes the initiative on citizen education and, in particular, including appropriate energy and climate teaching early in the citizen’s education.
