Competency Liaison Group
Custodian of the E/E/PES safety-related competencies on behalf of the IET and the BCS.
The Competency Liaison Group was formed to act as the custodian of the E/E/PES safety-related competencies on behalf of the IET and the BCS. The aim of this group is to ensure that the two Institutions continue to co-operate in the very positive and productive manner that has resulted in the production of the safety-related competencies.
The IET/BCS Competency Liaison Group supports industry and organisations with their uptake of the E/E/PES safety-related competencies, and beyond. If your organisation would like to work with the Group as you develop your organisation's Competency Scheme, please contact:

The objectives of the IET/BCS Competency Liaison Group will be, on behalf of both institutions to:
- promote the use of the E/E/PES safety-related competencies,
- encourage and facilitate the uptake by industry,
- monitor use of the competencies and uptake by industry,
- note and respond to industrial reaction to the competencies,
- respond to requests for clarification or guidance,
- advise organisations on best practice relating to E/E/PES safety-related competency assessment,
- be responsible for overseeing further developments of E/E/PES competencies.
