Nigel graduated from Loughborough University in 1980 with an Honours Degree in Electrical Engineering.
He was a graduate apprentice from 1976-80 with Lucas Aerospace and worked for them as a Product Support Engineer on control systems for gas turbine engines.
In 1983 he moved to Jaguar Cars as a Project Engineer initially working on custom test instrumentation before moving into the Research Dept. in 1990.
He then specialised in active safety systems and intelligent transport systems for 15 years leading a number of EC and UK Govt. funded projects.
Since 2008 Nigel has been responsible for advanced chassis research at Jaguar Land Rover. He is also a Director of innovITS (www.innovITS.com) a not for profit company set up by the UK Govt to make the UK a centre of excellence for intelligent transport systems.
