Manufacturing and Innovation Conference 2014

IET conference on manufacturing and innovation held at Austin Court, Birmingham on 10th July 2014

The Institution of Engineering and Technology plays an active role in promoting discussions on important public policy issues. As a contribution to the debate about the future of manufacturing in the UK, the IET organised a conference on manufacturing innovation at IET Birmingham: Austin Court on 10 July 2014. This was supported by the Technology Strategy Board, Birmingham Science City and Arup.

Steve Evans, Barry Brooks and Rt Hon. David Willetts MP In each of the sessions, there was an opportunity for the audience to debate the contributions from these and other speakers. The audience comprised of senior representatives from large and small businesses, and key stakeholders from government. The aim of the conference was to collect views on priorities for manufacturing innovation policy for 2015-2020 in order to inform a policy statement which the IET intends to publish later this year.
