Dr. Fredrik Verkroost PhD, CEng, FIET, FIoD

Fredrik Verkroost Fredrik Verkroost is an experienced CEO and Turnaround Leader of Industrial and Technology companies worldwide, specializing in corporate strategy, company turnarounds, mergers & acquisitions, divestments, and incubating innovation.

Since 2000, Fredrik supports innovative technology companies with their governance, development and financing needs, and has also managed the transformation, strategy and development of industrial and technology Companies, securing their M&A or divestment needs. In 2014 he completed a complex transformation of NEC’s Unified Communications business in Europe. Fredrik now serves on the boards of high-tech SME’s and is on the advisory boards of some Private Equity firms.

In his earlier corporate career, Fredrik held the following responsibilities:

  • Chief Commercial Officer and deputy CEO at ICO Global Communications Inc. (an Inmarsat spinout) - mobile satellite communications;
  • Management Board and Head of Corporate Development of Electrowatt AG and Landis & Gyr AG - building automation (now Siemens Building Technologies), power generation & distribution, energy management and payphones;
  • Director and head of the European Industrial Controls and Automation Division of Square D Company, and led the merger with Schneider Electric;
  • Country Sales & Marketing Manager for Test & Measurement Systems at Hewlett-Packard (Switzerland) – now Agilent;
  • Group Sales Manager at Databit / Siemens Text & Data Communications;
    Sr. Development Engineer on Spectrum Analyzers and European Sales Engineer at GEC-Marconi Instruments.

Fredrik is a mentor for the Satellite Applications Catapult, and was a former member on the European Council on Corporate Strategy and the European Energy Board.

His management roles have covered a broad range of technology sectors, including Test & Measurements; Microwave routing; Mobile, Fixed-line and Satellite Communications; Energy Management & Smart Meters; Industrial Controls & Automation; Building Automation; Electronic Health Records; Database Analytics Software; Kinegram bank note security; LED Lighting; Chip Card industry; Signal Processing Algorithms for the oil, automotive, water and voice recognition industries.  

Fredrik holds a PhD and B.Sc. (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineer from the Victoria University of Manchester. He is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering & Technology and a Fellow of the Institute of Directors.
