Paul has over 26 years experience in development and testing real-time and web-based systems. Recently he became part of Motorola’s mobile phone business and is the chair of Motorola’s UK university council. Prior to this Paul had the following roles: Chief Test Architect for Motorola, European Systems and Software Engineering Research Laboratory manager, Operations manager for Motorola Labs in Europe, and European Innovation Manager.
He has number of publications in the field of software verification, automation techniques, and model-driven engineering, and is co-author of the book “Model-driven testing using the UML Testing Profile”. He is also an active member of a number Industrial Advisory Boards for UK universities and has been proactive in developing collaborative research programs with both with European universities and other companies.
He has also participated in the development of software and testing standards, such as Message Sequence Charts, TTCN-3, and the UML 2.0 Testing Profile within ITU, ETSI, and OMG respectively. He has also been proactive within the open source software activities.
In previous jobs, Paul has worked at Philips (UK) developing automated test equipment for radio modules, semiconductors, and infra-red devices.
Paul has an MSc in software engineering from the University of Oxford (UK). Paul currently holds 11 patents and is a Motorola Science Advisory Board Associate.
