A marketing professional from the Stevenage-based Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) has been named Marketing Executive of the Year.
Donna Boost, 29, is an IET Marketing Campaign Manager. She received her award from MemCom, the organisation for membership marketing professionals, at a ceremony at the Institute of Directors in London.
Donna said: “Throughout 2011 we had some record breaking results for our awards, which was a great achievement in itself. But being nominated and then winning the Marketing Executive of the Year Award which recognises this achievement was fantastic and the icing on the cake.”
Donna was nominated by colleague Linda Deleay for her marketing of the IET Awards in 2011, some of which saw entries increase by 173 per cent. Donna looked at new marketing channels, combining these with traditional channels, which resulted in an increase in registrations for the event of 68 per cent on the previous year.
Linda said: "Donna consistently delivers and is always ready to take on new activities. In 2011, Donna's efforts helped us to achieve the highest ever results for our scholarships and awards campaigns."
The IET is Europe’s largest professional engineering society, sharing and advancing knowledge to promote science, engineering and technology across the world. Part of its remit is promoting, recognising and rewarding excellence and it does this through four awards programmes: The Ambition Awards, Achievement Awards, Innovation Awards and Young Woman Engineer of the Year Awards.
