IET General Election Campaign to help members reinforce the ‘big engineering issues’ with their local Parliamentary Candidates
All major political parties have endorsed the need for an Industrial Strategy for the UK, which means engineers and engineering issues should be at the forefront of the political agenda.
The country now faces choices which will be the most important in a generation. The UK will need to forge new relationships at a global level and with the European Union, opening new opportunities in a fast-moving, innovative, creative world.
IET President, Jeremy Watson, says: "The Industrial Strategy and emerging digital economy offer great opportunity for national growth and prosperity, but it’s vital that the new Government takes a long-term view and recognises the inter-dependencies between infrastructure, skills and innovation. Without this, we’ll miss valuable opportunities to boost the nation’s economy."
With this in mind, the IET has produced a General Election Campaign to help members reinforce the ‘big engineering issues’ with their local Parliamentary Candidates.
