You can find all the information about fees relating to your Fellowship application on our dedicated Fellowship fees webpage.

What information should I send?

Only send the information that is specified within the application form. Check the indicators within the criteria document and ensure that you provide all supporting evidence to indicate that you are working at the right level.

Please include an organisation chart indicating your position and reporting structure both upwards and those reporting to you as appropriate.

Remember your submitted application is the only evidence that the panel have to reach a decision on your suitability for Fellowship, so clear, personal, relevant and pertinent information is important.

What information should I not send?

  • Ensure you have requested the supporters to complete the separate supporter form. These can be forwarded directly to fellowship@theiet.org or included within your application pack.

Why are my designatory letters (FIET) not showing on my record?

There are a number of reasons that your membership record may not have been updated.

If you have an amount outstanding on your record you may have lapsed. Log in to the website and visit MyIET to check the status of your record.

If you are a non-member of the IET who has been elected to Fellow, your welcome pack and certificate will not be ordered and you will not be eligible to use the designatory letters FIET until the first annual subscription fee has been paid. You'll be sent a request for payment by email which will contain a secure link for direct payment.

What if I don’t agree with the decision or have concerns about the process?

If you are dissatisfied with the process or the decision of the panel you may request an appeal.
