Payment of fees for members in Nigeria

The IET has made special arrangements for members in Nigeria so they can pay their membership fees in local currency. The exchange rate is set at 225 Naira to £1.00.

All IET membership fees and Engineering Council fees are effective from 1 January 2012.

Membership of the IET runs for 12 consecutive months from date of payment (e.g. an individual joining the IET in March 2012 would receive a renewal notice in April 2013).

Standard IET membership fees for 2012 (NGN)

Fellow (FIET)	33,750 Naira
Member with designatory letters (TMIET or MIET)	29,025 Naira
Associate	29,025 Naira
Student and apprentice	4,500 Naira
Student and apprentice (for duration of course)	11,250 Naira

IET qualified and registered membership fees for 2012 (NGN)

If you are professionally registered with the Engineering Council, or were awarded the title Chartered Electrical Engineer through the IEE, you are required to pay the IET qualified and registered member fee.  This rate includes the standard IET membership fee. 

IET registered Fellows: Chartered Engineers, Incorporated Engineers or Chartered Electrical Engineers	40,500 Naira
IET registered members: Chartered Engineers, Incorporated Engineers or Chartered Electrical Engineers	35,775 Naira
IET registered Fellows: Engineering Technicians or ICT Technicians	36,675 Naira
IET registered members: Engineering Technicians or ICT Technicians	31,950 Naira

Engineering Council fees for 2012 (NGN)

If you are professionally registered with the Engineering Council, you are required to pay the IET qualified and registered members fee plus the Engineering Council registration fee below.

Chartered Engineer (CEng)	7,312.50 Naira
Incorporated Engineer (IEng)	6,187.50 Naira
Engineering Technician (EngTech)	3,555 Naira
ICT Technician (ICTTech)	3,555 Naira
