Payment of fees for members in India

IET membership fees and Engineering Council fees for members in India and details on how to pay.

The IET Board of Trustees has agreed to set membership subscription rates in Rupees to reflect the economic circumstances and inflation in India.

All IET membership fees and Engineering Council fees are effective from 1 January 2012.

Membership of the IET runs for 12 consecutive months from date of payment (e.g. an individual joining the IET in March 2012 would receive a renewal notice in April 2013).

Standard IET membership fees for 2012 (Rupees)

Member with designatory letters (TMIET or MIET)4,500 Rupees
Associate4,500 Rupees
Existing student and apprentices* (one year)1,000 Rupees
 
New student and apprentice (duration of course)** as follows:
First year2, 500 Rupees

Fourth (final) year1,000 Rupees

* Existing Student and Apprentices must renew online.

**All new Students and Apprentices are required to complete the above application form and post back to the Bangalore office along with payment.

New graduates and newly qualified apprentices, who were previously student members, will be invoiced at a concession rate of 1,000 rupees for one year. 

 

IET qualified and registered membership fees for 2012 (Rupees)

If you are professionally registered with the Engineering Council, you are required to pay the IET qualified and registered member fee. This rate includes the standard IET membership fee.

IET registered Fellows: Chartered Engineers, Incorporated Engineers or Chartered Electrical Engineers5,500 Rupees

Engineering Council fees for 2012 (Rupees)

If you are professionally registered with the Engineering Council, you are required to pay the IET qualified and registered member fee plus the Engineering Council registration fee below.

Reduced IET membership fees for 2012 (Rupees)

Reduced membership subscriptions are available to members in the following circumstances.

Students and apprentices

Apprentices, all undergraduate and full-time postgraduate students studying to satisfy the IET membership requirements will automatically be billed at a reduced rate of 1,000 Rupees.

Please ensure that cheques/bank drafts are crossed at PAR in favour of “Institution of Engineering and Technology” and is "payable at Bangalore".

Outstation cheques, cash and money orders can not be accepted.
