Application fees for professional registration, CITP registration and Fellow (FIET) assessment through the IET

All prices are in Sterling (GBP £).

All fees are non-refundable with the exception of the appeal fee.

Request to transfer registration fees (from another UK engineering institution) for 2014

To request to transfer your professional registration or CITP registration to the IET, you will need to ensure that your Engineering Council or BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT, subscription payments are up to date. In order to transfer your professional registration or CITP registration, you must be a member of the IET. Next years fees

Engineering Council entrance fees for 2014 (payable upon notification of successful registration)

The IET collects an entrance fee on behalf of the Engineering Council in order to add successful candidates' names to the Engineering Council's list of registered engineers. Only on receipt of this payment can your details be sent to the Engineering Council for inclusion on their register. Once your details have been added to the Engineering Council register you are able to use your professional registration designatory letters (CEng, IEng, EngTech or ICTTech).

Please note: If payment is not received within three months of notification, your application may be closed.

Once you are professionally registered with the Engineering Council, you are required to pay the IET qualified and registered member fee plus the Engineering Council annual registration fee.

Chartered IT Professional entrance fees for 2014

The BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT, charges an entrance fee which is collected by the IET upon confirmation of the CITP award. IET members who are awarded CITP will be added to the register of Chartered IT Professionals.

Membership or professional registration certificates are provided free of charge, unless a replacement professional registration certificate is required in which case a small administration fee will be charged. Note: If you are applying more than three years since your original application for EngTech or ICTTech, or more than three years since your interview for CEng or IEng, you will be required to pay the full application fee as stated at the top of this page.

Re-application for CITP registration may be submitted after a period of six months has passed from the last application and the standard CITP application fees apply.

Professional registration fees payment methods

You can pay your professional registration fees in a number of different ways:

By debit card, credit card or PayPal

Pay online by debit card, credit card or PayPal via My IET (login required).

If you have not previously registered a My IET account, it is quick and easy to set up. Click on the "register" button that appears at the top of each IET website page and follow the on-screen instructions and once registered click on the My Account tab and follow the Membership Payments link.

By bank transfer

Make your payment to Barclays Bank, sort code: 20-65-82, account no: 50480606, quoting the reference 'The IET' and your membership/reference number.

By post

Complete the payment form in your application pack indicating your preferred payment method and post to:

If paying by cheque, use a sterling cheque or banker's draft made payable to "The Institution of Engineering and Technology". Please write your membership number, category of registration you are applying for and payment reference on the reverse of the cheque or draft. Please note that we do not accept payment by Western Union.
