The Royal Academy of Engineering announces 59 new Fellows, including 19 IET members
Elected at the Royal Academy of Engineering’s (RAEng) AGM on Monday 16 July 2012 the list of new Fellows includes some of the UK’s most accomplished engineers from academia and business, together with 19 IET members.
Three Honorary Fellows have been elected: Government Chief Scientific Adviser Sir John Beddington, Royal Society president Sir Paul Nurse and Tata Group chairman Ratan Tata HonFIET.
Sir John Parker GBE FREng, RAEng president, said: “We welcome our new Fellows – the collective expertise and vision of the best engineers is what drives our ambitious agenda and makes so many good things possible. We are making progress in our aim to encourage a broader-based Fellowship that is more representative of the society we serve. But we cannot afford to be complacent and are continually reviewing our membership strategy to see how we might strengthen it.”
