New membership offering designed to help young engineers.
The IET has launched a new membership package to help engineers during the early stages of their career. Tailored to meet the changing employment needs of young engineers, IET Career Advantage concentrates on helping to increase knowledge and experience.
Following the launch of the Graduate Advantage package in 2011, which helps engineering graduates bridge the gap between university and the working world, Career Advantage is the second step in a wider three stage programme known as IET Advantage.
Career Advantage is designed to assist young engineers in their career development and towards achieving professional registration as a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer.
It is a three year package that provides the tools and resources to help build the essential skills of a professional, underpinned by the provision of essential engineering intelligence and the support of a worldwide community of peers.
The IET’s director of membership and professional development, Michelle Richmond, said: “The IET is committed to supporting recently qualified engineers with their career development. The launch of IET Career Advantage will give a range of resources to our members to ensure they have a competitive edge in shaping their future and that of the engineering profession around the world.”
Open to all engineering graduates within the first three years of their career, Career Advantage will complement any internal personal development graduates are receiving in their own organisations.
