Q: I'm receiving a large quantity of spam to my alias. Why?
A: Everyone receives spam, but there are three main ways that spammers get addresses:
you could have bought a product or subscribed to a service from a company who either spam themselves or who sold their database,
you could have posted your email address on a publicly-accessible web site (including forums and guestbooks) from where it can be harvested by crawlers,
you could be the victim of a dictionary attack, where spammers send to a large number of possible addresses at one domain.
