City and Guilds Professional Recognition Awards recognise the personal and professional achievements of individuals enabling them to progress to the highest levels of achievements ranging from licentiateship to membership.
City and Guilds Professional Recognition Awards are awarded to candidates who can demonstrate a high level of skills as well as an ongoing commitment to professional development.
On the 17 May 2008 nearly 400 graduates and their guests attended the City and Guilds annual graduation ceremony at The Merchant Taylors Hall in the City of London. The ceremony was for higher level learners from a huge cross section of vocational fields with members of engineering institutions well represented.
The ceremony itself involved all awardees making their way to the stage as their names were read out by Chris Humphries CBE, Director-General of City and Guilds, in the order of seated rows. They were then congratulated by Michael Howell HonFCGI, Chairman of the Council of City and Guilds, who handed them an attendance certificate.
All of the 80 Engineers who received their Professional Recognition Awards (previously named the Senior Awards) at the ceremony were able to share the event with Commander Barry Brooks (President IET), their family and friends.
