Subscription rates for members in India have been set in Rupees to reflect the local economic circumstances.

The table below provides information on the Rupee rate.

| Members qualified and registered as CEng, IEng or Chartered Electrical Engineers | 5,390 Rupees |
| Fellow qualified and registered as CEng, IEng or Chartered Electrical Engineers | 5,500 Rupees |
| Members qualified and registered as EngTech/ICTTech | 4,760 Rupees |
| Fellows qualified and registered as EngTech/ICTTech | 5,500 Rupees |
| Students and apprentices¹ Duration of course (up to five years) | 1,000 Rupees 2,500 Rupees |
¹New graduates and newly qualified apprentices, who were previously student members, will be invoiced at a concession rate of 1,000 Rupees for one year.
Reduced subscriptions
Reductions are available in certain circumstances, as listed below.
50-year membership
Members who achieve 50 years of membership in the 2010/11 subscription period are eligible for a 50 per cent discount off the local subscription rate. This discount is automatically applied to your subscription and there is no need to apply.
Students / apprentices
Apprentices, all undergraduates and full-time postgraduate students studying to satisfy the Institution’s membership requirements will automatically be billed at a reduced rate of 1,000 Rupees.
Engineering Council members
Members who pay a reduced subscription and are registered with the Engineering Council also qualify for a reduced EC fee as follows:

If you wish to pay by Rupee cheque or bank draft, please send the payment page of your renewal notice together with your cheque/bank draft to:

Please ensure that cheques/bank drafts are crossed at PAR in favour of “Institution of Engineering and Technology” and is "payable at Bangalore".
Note that outstation cheques, cash and money orders can not be accepted.
