Payment of fees for members in India
Subscription rates for members in India have been set in Rupees to reflect the local economic circumstances.
The table below provides information on the rupee rate that can be paid to your local representative and the sterling rate that can be paid online.

1 New graduates and newly qualified apprentices, who were previously student members, will be invoiced at a concession rate of 1000 rupees (£12) for one year.
Reduced Subscriptions
Reductions are available in certain circumstances, as listed below.
50-year membership
Members who achieve 50 years of membership in the 2008/9 subscription period are eligible for a 50% discount off the standard subscription rate. This discount is automatically applied to your subscription and there is no need to apply.
Students/Apprentices
Apprentices and full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students studying to satisfy the Institution’s membership requirements will automatically be billed at a reduced rate of £12.00 (1000 Rupees).
Retirement
Retired members are eligible for a 25% discount off the standard subscription rate (code A). The IET defines a person who has retired as someone who is no longer in receipt of any income from employment. Therefore, if you are working part-time then, unfortunately, you can not be considered for a reduction under the retired fee.
Please note that members who pay a reduced subscription and are registered with the Engineering Council (UK) also qualify for a reduced EC(UK) fee as follows: CEng £11 (902 Rupees), IEng £10 (820 Rupees), EngTech £7 (574 Rupees). All claims for reductions or refunds must be made within 3 months of your membership subscription due date.

Please ensure that cheques are crossed payable at PAR in favour of ‘Institution of Engineering and Technology’. Outstation cheques/ cash/ money orders cannot be accepted.
Bank Drafts should be made payable to ‘The Institution of Engineering and Technology’.
If you are renewing your membership then please ensure that you send the payment page of your renewal notice with your payment.
