The Engineering Council's Code of Practice for professionally registered members undertaking CPD.
The IET supports and recommends the Engineering Council's Code of Practice, which sets out the requirements for those members qualified and registered by the Engineering Council – either as CEng, IEng or EngTech – to undertake continuing professional development (CPD). It is obligatory for registered engineers to maintain their competence throughout their working lives, and the Code guides you on the scope of activities that you should seek to undertake.
Although created for registered members, we believe that this simple three point code is relevant to all practicing engineers, and therefore recommend that all members actively seek to pursue their CPD with these concepts in mind.
