Preparing for Professional Registration

If your aim is to achieve professional registration, we can help you prepare to achieve the best result. This includes making the most of the support available from both your peers and the IET.

Course overview

Professional registration can enhance you career prospects by recognising your skills and experience and demonstrating your commitment to professionalism. These professional qualifications are peer assessed and internationally recognised. The IET is licensed by the Engineering Council to assess applicants and award the following titles CEng, IEng, EngTech and ICTTech.

In today’s dynamic job market, membership of a professional organisation can be the one constant you can rely on for support throughout your career. So it’s good to know, no matter where you are in your career, what challenges you are facing or where you want to be, the IET can provide you with a professional home for life which can help you achieve your career goals.

The IET offers a comprehensive range of products and support services which have been specifically developed to meet all your professional needs. Put simply, it can make you more employable, help you perform better and raise your professional profile.

This course will take you through the requirements of UK-SPEC and the process of preparing and submitting an application.  You will learn how to plan, record and review your professional development as you progress towards registration, including how to assess your skill level against the relevant framework and how those supporting you can help along the way.

We will also show you how Career Manager, the IET’s online professional development system, enables you to record and plan your professional development, as well as prepare and submit your application.
