Fees

The cost of the diploma is £2,300 plus VAT per participant, to include four one-day workshops with lunch and refreshments provided, tutor support throughout the programme and course materials.

The programme comprises:

  • Four one day workshops at IET London: Savoy Place (includes programme induction);
  • Four modules of self study following the workshops;
  • Completion of an assessed learning log for each module;
  • A work related project of approximately 5000 words;
  • Two work based assignments of approximately 3000 words.

Exclusive to Chartered Engineers

Available exclusively to Chartered Engineers, this customised programme has been developed as a result of mapping the Engineering Council’s UK-SPEC (external website, opens in new window) standard for CEng registration against the CMI Level 5 Diploma. It provides exemption from 50 per cent of the modules required to complete the standard programme and can be completed in just six to nine months.

Entry requirements

You should have some current management experience and wish to expand your management potential and business knowledge. You must already be registered as a Chartered Engineer.

Successful completion of the diploma enables you to gain a management qualification and progress towards becoming a Chartered Manager.

About the trainer

 

Jean Dowson MBA BSc FCMI Chartered FCIPD MIoD

Jean Dowson: CMI trainer

Jean has nearly 30 years’ experience in leadership, training and management appointments both overseas and in the UK, including 12 years’ board experience. She has an MBA and Diploma in Management and left the Army four years ago as the most senior serving female officer in all three armed services. She is an insightful, commercially aware, excellent facilitator, trainer and executive coach with a successful track record. An experienced HR Director, her focus with clients is on developing effective and practical leadership and management solutions that deliver enhanced capability and sustained change. 

Jean has successfully delivered five diploma courses to Chartered Engineers and particularly enjoys the high level of academic rigour and applying key management and leadership principles in the many and varied environments. She also works as an executive coach with senior managers in both the public and the private sector and is passionate about helping people achieve their goals.
