Advice and guidance about using Career Manager.
A user-friendly system, with a clearly defined learning roadmap enabling individual skill profiling and meaningful training for professional development.
Career Manager will guide you through the steps involved in:
SMART is an acronym used to help you define and set effective objectives or goals.
Specific – be precise about what you intend to achieve – remain focused on the objective(s) to avoid wandering off in unrelated areas.
Measurable – quantifying your objectives is key and can help you to focus on what is expected. It can also aid your manager who can monitor and assess actual performance against the set objectives.
Achievable – consider carefully what you can actually achieve. Achievable objectives are based on the ideal scenario where everything is in place such as relevant skill set, adequate resources, agreed timescale, management support and access to key people.
Realistic – your objectives should always add value within the context where they are set ensuring that the correct resources are in place to make the objective happen.
Timely – decide on a timescale to complete the objectives which will inevitably add the appropriate sense of urgency to each task ensuring that the overall objectives are not prolonged over an unreasonable amount of time.
