IET South Yorkshire Network History - Index


Welcome to the archives of the IET South Yorkshire Network.

These few notes are to explain the way in which these pages are linked together and provide a detailed index. The archives are divided into three sections:

  1. The history of the South Yorkshire Network (formerly the IEE Sheffield Centre) from 1871 to the present day.
  2. The appendices which provide much additional data.
  3. The revision history.

The links menu on the right hand side provides quick access to any of the pages in the archives. Once in a section you can use the right hand side index or return directly to this page for the detailed index. The revision history of these pages will be maintained on a separate page accessible only from this page or the history links menu.

Before you set off to explore these pages could I just ask that if anyone holds photographs of historical relevance to the Sheffield Branch (or Centre as it used to be called) or any other pertinent information would they contact me via email at the address below. In particular, I'm looking to find photographs of all Past Chairmen of the Sub-Centre and Centre. Other items of interest include programme booklets - these were first issued in the 1940's and often included an annual report containing much useful information. If any one has copies of these dated earlier than 1980 would they please contact me. Also of interest are copies of the Chairmans address, old dinner menus, posters for lectures etc. IF YOU CAN HELP please email the Network Webmaster.
