South Yorkshire Network History
Introduction
The idea of producing a history of the IET South Yorkshire Network was first floated in February 1993 when it was the IEE Sheffield Centre. I have attempted to produce, I hope, a fairly factual unbiased account of the history of the Branch. If any reader has an alternative view of events, or can furnish any additional information or photographs it would be very welcome. I apologise for any important events not included. A second issue is envisaged in the next few years when corrections can be made and the details expanded. I hope you take the time to read this chronological account, it will make the hours spent in the IEE archives worth it.
