Don Harwood - Chairman
Don took on the role of IET Oxford Chairman in 2008, having been Treasurer for 2 years prior to that. He has worked at PLX Technology (formerly Oxford Semiconductor) since 2001, where he is currently Director of Technology. Don has a PhD in Graphic Systems ASIC Design from Bristol University and a BSc(Hons) in Electronic, Computer & Systems Engineering from Loughborough University.
Andrew Evans - Vice Chairman/Secretary
Andrew had worked as an electronic designer in R&D laboratories focusing mainly in image processing for military, industrial, medical and commercial applications, he now works at Lauriate Ltd (a business psychology company) as the technical director in charge of web based applications.
David Nellist, Treasurer
David, now retired, graduated in electrical engineering many years ago and has been an IEE/IET member since joining as a student. His career was spent as a control systems engineer in the railway, aircraft, marine and nuclear industries.
Peter Mulley
Peter has moved up from the Youngers Members committee in 2007 where he was chairman for the previous two years.
Sylvia Carmen M'Bemba - Event planner/co-ordinator
Sylvia graduated in Electronics Engineering. After working as a Process Improvement Engineer in the paper industry, she became very interested in efficiency and profitability improvement through the human resource at the heart of the process. She now runs Sterling5 Partners, a Headhunting Consultancy for engineering organisations.
Mike Moore
Mike is a retired commissioning manager who spent most of his working life overseas, and hence prefers to hibernate during the worst of the UK winter. He tries, often unsuccessfully, to ensure that the Seniors section of the branch website is updated with news of planned events.
Peter Wherritt - Business Liaison
Peter is an active committee member with an interest developing links between the local IET and the technology businesses in Oxfordshire. He is still actively working as Director of R+D at Oxford RF Sensors (his 3rd Start up!)
Cathal McCabe
Cathal had been involved with the Younger members committee before moving to the senior committee. He has an MEng in Electronic Engineering from Queens University Belfast. He works at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory for STFC as a hardware engineer, specialising in EDA tools and flows. Cathal is still involved with Younger members and tries to organise some events targeted more for students, postgraduates and new professionals as well as more senior IET members
Maaruf Ali - EC3 Committee Member
Maaruf works as a Senior Lecturer in Telecommunications at Oxford Brookes University and is the IET Student Counsellor there. He has also previously been the chairman of the EC3 committee. Maaruf also currently serves as the Secretary of the UKRI IEEE Communications Society.
