About Oxford Network
The Seniors Committee forms the main controlling section within the IET Oxford structure. The name 'Seniors' is used to distinguish us from the Younger Members and the Building Services Specialised Sections. It does not imply that we are all over 60!... If we did have a 'Senior Citizens' committee it would be called the 'Retired Members Section'.
All three committees organise events but the Seniors Committee has overall responsibility within the network and in particular we control the budgets! In fact we encourage the formation of new groups that perhaps exist in the different geographical location, e.g. Banbury, or that will focus on certain industry sectors.
We welcome new members to join the committee at any time. Tasks undertaken vary widely. As we are all volunteers, we only allow people to take on tasks they have the time to complete so you shouldn't be concerned with workload.
