About this event

What happens when engineers and academics join together to improve the railways? Since 1872 track circuits have been the basic fail-safe method for locating trains, now Bombardier and the University of Plymouth are working to develop them for the 21st century. This talk will describe not only the challenges of using advanced electronics to solve a deceptively simple problem, but also the issues with combining engineering and academic teams to apply research to real world problems.
