About this event
The lecture will explore the science and engineering that underpins modern collision investigations.
There are over 2000 fatalities on UK roads each year and on average a fatal road accident costs ~£1.6 million to investigate. We will examine how the use of computer simulation, engineering mechanics, metallurgy, psychology, bio-mechanics and civil engineering can contribute to understanding why collisions occur and how the number of fatalities can be reduced.
