Solent Network Retired Members Section
The Retired Members Section holds technical meetings on the fourth Wednesday of the months September to April, excluding December. Meetings are held in the Blue Lagoon Suite, Hilsea Lido, London Road, Portsmouth, PO2 9RP. Invited speakers give lectures ranging from system and equipment design, manufacture and application, through reviews of national projects and services, to histories of famous scientists and engineers. Our own members are encouraged to give talks; one in six lectures have been given by members of the Section.
Meetings are open to all members who find it convenient to attend a daytime event and members' guests and visitors are very welcome. Meetings, which are free of charge, begin with refreshments from 10:00, with the lecture and discussion running from 10:30 until around 12:30.
Visits of broad technical interest are arranged for the months of May, June and July and have included manufacturing plants, science museums and fine houses.
