Steve Parkes is the director of the Space Technology Centre, leading research work on spacecraft on-board data-handling networks (SpaceWire), planet surface simulation and autonomous lander navigation, and digital signal and image processing for satellites. Steve has over 23 years experience as an electronic engineer and has spent more than 17 years working on electronic systems for spacecraft. He has worked on SpaceWire technology since 1992.
This lecture will present a variety of space missions that employ SpaceWire networks and will describe the objectives and goals of these missions.
