A warm welcome to the IET Scotland South-East Local Network.
I’m David Lidgate, your Chairman for the 2010/11 session. Here you can find out more about what’s happening in your local group and also what is happening in the rest of Scotland. Within the various links you will find details of your Committee, the ongoing programme for the coming year and a number of links to other professional Institutions whose activities may also be of interest. All our meetings are free to members and non-members.
For those considering Professional Registration (as CEng, IEng, EngTech or ICTTech) we are again holding a number of events this session. These will help you on your way toward professional recognition and members will be pleased to assist you.
We also have very active Young Professionals’ and Retired Members’ sections, and you will be made most welcome at all the activities. Whatever your interests and involvement in engineering, we aim to have something that will attract you to join in our programme.
Our local groups feed into the national structure and through this your concerns and ideas are able to be voiced and so help shape the future of our profession.
I hope that we will see you at one (or more) of our meetings during this session. If you have any questions, please contact either myself, our Secretary or any of the Committee.
Prof. David Lidgate
