About Scotland South East Network
Chairman's welcome
Welcome to the new web-site for IET Scotland South-East Local Network. Within the various links you will find details of your Committee, the programme for the coming year (when finalised) and a number of links to other professional Institutions whose activities may also be of interest. Please also look at the IET Scotland, South-West and Northern Network pages to find out what is happening in the rest of Scotland.
The Network has a very active Younger Members and Retired Members sections, and you will be made most welcome at all the activities. Whatever your interests and involvement in engineering, we want to have something that will attract you to join in our programme.
For those considering Professional Registration (as C.Eng, I.Eng or EngTech) we are planning a number of events in session 2007-08 to help you on your way, and members of the Committee will be pleased to assist you.
South-East Local Network will be hosting IET Scotland’s Prestige Lecture in Edinburgh on 12th March 2008. Dr Mark Baldwin, an expert on the work of the World War II code-breakers, will be speaking on “The Code-breakers – Enigma, Bletchley Park and the Battle of the Atlantic” and further details will appear later in the year. Please book the date in your diary!
I hope that we will see you at one (or more) of our meetings in the new session. If you have any questions, please contact either myself, our Secretary or any of the Committee.
Julian Donnelly
Chairman, 2007-08
