    About this event

This talk considers how the use of a HVDC subsea circuit between Scotland and England/Wales will alleviate the cross border strain on the existing GB transmission system, including an overview of why HVDC is the most effective solution. Identifying and securing a HVDC circuit of over 400km is challenging; the talk will look back how the solution was determined and look forward to the challenges of constructing it.
