The IET Manchester Network is pleased to announce that Student Excellence Prizes were again awarded in 2011 under the "IET LOCAL NETWORK PRIZE FOR STUDENT EXCELLENCE at a non-accredited educational establishments". These awards were made to students at Stockport College and The Manchester College.

The Prize was presented by Lynn Merilion (lower left), the Principal of Stockport College, at an awards ceremony held at Stockport Town Hall on 8 November 2011.
IET Manchester chairman, Peter Crossley, presented a Prize to Chun Yin Lai for his studies for a B.TEC L3 Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering at the Manchester College. He is currently reading for a BEng in electrical and electronic engineering at Manchester Metropolitan University.
The Prize was presented before the Family Christmas Lecture entitled "Roller Coaster - Engineering the thrill" on 1 December 2011.
