Retired Members

The Retired Members Group in Manchester organises lectures and technical visits.  In recent years around six events per year have been organised. Many are technical visits to industrial companies and other organisations - some not normally accessible to everyone.  Guided tours give more detailed technical explanations than is normally given to the average visitor.

Lectures have included topics of local technical and historical interest.  Attendance at events, which is not restricted to those who are retired or over a ‘certain age', shows that there is a continuing interest in things technical amongst retired engineers and, on many occasions, amongst wives and partners.  

Meetings and visits are held both during the daytime and in the evenings to suit those who are retired.  These events provide a social contact with others of similar interests, training and technical background.

New members are always welcome. If you would like to help provide a continuing programme of events or have ideas for events please get in touch with the chairman or secretary.  There is a lot more that can be done.
