Manchester Network
From the IET
Present around the world (PATW)
It is my great pleasure to host the forthcoming 2011 – 2012 session for the IET Manchester Network.
This year we have put together a full programme of over 50 high quality events, consisting of technical lectures and visits, professional development workshops and social / networking opportunities. The events will hopefully deliver what you want, and continue to engage the Engineers and Technologists of Manchester and the wider North Western region.
The Manchester Network was founded in 1893 as the Northern Society of Electrical Engineers. Our priority is to ensure the standards set over the past 117 years, continue into the distant future and this year our programme reaches out and draws together new and existing members of the local engineering community. Our seven technical groups and sections, will be hosting an informative programme of events, but it is only with your support, that the Manchester Network can continue to be one of the most active IET regions in the United Kingdom.
Finally, on behalf of everyone, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our outgoing chairman, Dr Jeff Robertson for his determination and hard work, which ensured most of the events of 2010 – 2011 were both popular and successful. Hopefully, I can learn from his commitment and together we can all continue to receive his support for many years to come.
Hopefully, the forthcoming programme will be of interest and value, and over the next 12 months I can welcome you to the IET Manchester and some of our events.
With my very best wishes
Professor Peter Crossley MIET
