Event details
Many organisational issues are overwhelmingly complex and virtually impossible to define and analyse in totality. Attempts to do this often result in heavy reports and tiresome presentations which are not only difficult to assimilate, but also fail to inspire those that have to implement them.
Graphic Facilitation is the process of using pictures to clarify and disseminate a better understanding of organisational issues. The pictures show the key points and inter-relationships in an immediate and accessible way that the whole organisation can engage with and feel a part of. Although not yet in the mainstream, Graphic Facilitation is growing in popularity with a variety of organisations from global engineering companies to an IET network.
The presentation explains the Graphic Facilitation process – how it helps to pull leadership thinking together and how it involves and inspires everyone. Case studies are used to show how the process works in practice. Delegates participate in simple exercises to ‘illustrate’ some of the key points – no artistic skill whatever is required!
Chris Pearse has a background in engineering, sales, marketing and general management, both in the UK and abroad. He is a Chartered Engineer and an executive member of the IET’s Management Network. He co-founded the Clarity Partnership to help organisations manage complexity and issues that are not amenable to a purely rational approach.
