Energy Optimised Green Data Centres - Wed 24/02/10
Members and guests are welcome to attend the above event which is being hosted by The Hertfordshire Branch of the BCS
eLEAn will be Europe's greenest data centre campus. Incorporating 350,000 square feet of data centre in 35 x 10,000 square feet halls, using two-stage absorption cooling, we will be able to reduce energy cost within the data centre by 30% and take at least 40% carbon dioxide equivalents out of normal data centre operations.

Visit to RAF Museum - Thurs 18/03/10
The Royal Air Force Museum displays over 100 aircraft, most of which can be inspected at close quarters.
We will take a private tour of the museum with our own expert guide in the morning. We can then take lunch together in the Museum's restaurant and individuals can choose to tour the museum at their own pace in the afternoon.
Protecting Our Armed Forces - A Historical Overview of Electronic Warfare - Wed 24/03/10
The focus of Electronic Warfare is protecting our own armed forces. Chris Perry will trace its fascinating history from the Boer War to the present day. His talk will be illustrated by stories from his own experience as a specialist in this field with the Royal Navy, much of it on the front line.

This event is aimed predominantly at students and those working towards professional registration, though all are welcome to attend this Young Professionals organised event. This practical session takes you on to the next steps of gathering and presenting your evidence.

The Mosquito Museum visit has been changed from the Programme Booklet advertised date, 21st November 2009, to March 2010. The exact date will be posted in the New Year.
