26 April 2010 - New Zealand shines at the Vex World Championships in Dallas, Texas
IET New Zealand was a sponsor at this year's New Zealand's Vex Robotics competition. The aim of the competition is "to inspire a passion for Science and Technology".
Two Massey University teams made it through to the quarterfinals of the College (University) Championship. The Albany Massey team reached the final and won the first of the best-of-three matches against a Chinese team. However, due to a mechanical fault, they ended up as finalists and couldn't retain their World Championship title from last year.
In the High School section,16 NZ teams competed. Those two teams, Free Range Robotics (Auckland Home Schoolers) and Kristin Doves (Kristin School), along with Team 1 of Shanghai Luwan Teenagers Activity Center, went on to win the Vex World Championship! Well done guys!
