About IET New Zealand

The Local Networks are run by volunteer members. Each local network work locally and appoints representatives (usually their Chairmen) to work together as a New Zealand forum in order to:

  • Co-ordinate the activities of the Institution within New Zealand
  • Plan and organise those activities which are best carried out at national level
  • Increase the profile and further the objectives of the IET within New Zealand
  • Interface with other national bodies where appropriate e.g. IPENZ (The Institution of Professional Engineers in New Zealand), ESR (Engineers for Social Responsibility).

The representatives are supported by an Honorary Treasurer and including:

  • Chairmen of Young Professional Sections
  • Any current New Zealand members of the IET Council or IET Boards
  • Any co-opted members of the IET in New Zealand

About the Young Professional Sections

The Chairmen of the Young Professional (YP) Sections form the New Zealand YP Forum.  Members work together to formulate the YP strategy in New Zealand and be a voice for young professionals within the Institution.
