Welcome to the website for the IET Switzerland Local Network. Here you will find general information on the Network's activities as well as up to date information on technical and social events being organised by the Network.

Please check out our next activities on the events link on the left side of this page. It is generally best to tell the organiser if you plan to attend a meeting in case there are late changes. You can also see past events by setting the start date accordingly.

In 2009 year our strategy for events has been different - a small number of higher profile events of our own and a larger number of adopted events run by other organisations.

The AGM in June near Lausanne was a very good event, with excellent participation. First the formal AGM and then a lecture 'Next Generation Mobile Networks' by Dr P Meissner, Operating Officer at the NGMN Alliance, and two shorter presentations. Finally there was an excellent meal with musical interlude from two of our own members, Richard and Tony. Many thanks to all who participated - by preparation, presenting, discussing, or just being there!

Then in September we ran a workshop on outsourcing and off-shoring at the ETH in Zurich. Again an excellent event with great participation.

For 2010 the AGM will probably be on May 29 in Zurich. Further details will be available soon. We will also be closely involved with the 2010 Mechatronics Conference in June (see Events page), and we plan further events on academic and technology co-operation with China and the IT Infrastructure at CERN.
