IET Benelux activities with and for schools

IET Benelux undertakes various activities with and for schools, including providing support for career evenings and arranging technical visits. The IET is keen to encourage the young to consider engineering as a career and to help and support them in their career choice.

We have recently been involved in mock interviews for students seeking entry to Universities. The interviews were intended to prepare the students for university entrance interviews for engineering courses at institutions in the UK and USA. The courses for study were in aeronautical, electronic, electrical, civil, computing, chemical, mechanical, and general engineering. Each interview lasted approximately 25 minutes followed by a 5 minute feedback review to the student. 15 students were given mock-interviews over the two days, and it was encouraging to see the ambition of the students to pursue engineering careers.
