Hi all,

I am an apprentice studying for my City and Guilds - Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installations (Buildings and Structures) qualification.

I work mostly on domestic installations and maintenance however also have some commercial experience.

The question that I am essentially asking is; with this qualification (and level 3) what other specializations can I do in later life from that? Is a degree an option considering I only have average GCSE grades? (1 A, 6 B's and 5 Cs)?

Well there are Electrical design, fire alarms, and emergency lighting, lightening protection, surge protection, distribution 400v and 11kv upwards all as a Engineering progression once youve exhausted the city and guilds offerings that will take you to level 4.

The killer with a degree is going to be the maths.

Lack of planning on your part doesn't make it an emergency on mine....
